Leela + Dean’s Spectacular Wedding

This past weekend we had the honor of hosting Leela and Dean’s wedding at the Hilltop Hacienda. They held their ceremony on the lawn against the jaw-dropping redwood trees, under a chuppa with their closest family and friends. Their traditional Jewish ceremony was finished off with Dean crushing the glass, a tradition at the end of wedding ceremonies to acknowledge and remember the destruction of Jerusalem and its Jewish temples.

When the ceremony was over, everybody joined us in our courtyard for cocktail hour, where we had Leela and Dean’s ketubah, or marriage certificate, proudly on display next to the gifts and guest book. A ketubah outlines a husband’s marital obligations to his wife,” said expert Aliyah Guttmann. “How he must provide for her with clothing, food, a roof, and please her all the days of his life.”

After cocktail hour, guests were invited to move through the Hacienda and onto the back terrace, where 21 tables were set up with gorgeous floral arrangements from Julie and her team at Willi Wildflower. Dinner was a delicious selection of filet mignon tips with a mushroom demi-glace, pan-seared salmon with dill sauce, Brussels sprouts, cheesy, creamy polenta, and mini penne pasta with gorgonzola, mushrooms, and spinach (a crowd favorite!). Leela and Dean also provided their guests with Sweetsurf Ice Cream and cake from The Buttery, both locally famous for their sweet treats.

The rest of the evening consisted of dancing, drinks, and laughs. It was such an honor to hold this ceremony and reception at our Hilltop Hacienda estate. Congratulations Leela and Dean!
