2022 Wedding Season Recap!
The 2022 wedding season has officially ended and we want to take a look back on all the amazing memories made at Kennolyn this year!
We kicked off our season in April with two beautiful weddings at our day only venue Hilltop Hacienda. Jordan & Kevin chose to say their vows on the lawn facing the redwood tree while Rayna & Marco chose the redwood grove and said goodbye to their guest with a fantastic sparkler exit!
May began our first round of duels, where we hold weddings at both our venues, Hilltop and our weekend retreat venue Stone Creek Village. We hosted some truly fun weekends at the Village! Ashley & Derek brought all the entertainment for our first weekend at the Village including a talent show during campfire, a volleyball tournament and donuts for their wedding dessert. Maryli & Christian took full advantage of the camp as the groom was a lifelong camper. They set up tie-dye, the ropes course and served a traditional camp lunch, a walking taco, before the wedding. Kailey & Patrick brought in a coffee cart & yoga to keep their guest energized. Hunter & Fielder truly delighted guests by having the kind & hilarious Bryan Cranston as their officiant, held ping-pong & rugby tournaments and the cutest donut wall display!
Meanwhile May at the Hacienda saw Tiffany & Morgan break a piñata during their cocktail hour and Katie & George decorate their ceremony arbor with an incredible macramé piece the bride handmade! Alexandra & Chase said I Do in the redwood grove and Kristine & Francisco provided wine corks as favors for their guests.
June was when camp season began for Stone Creek as we continued hosting weddings at Hilltop beginning with Kelly & Andrew, who brought in incredible floral displays, a luxury photo booth & live music. Marisa & Martin finally got the wedding of their dreams three years after first booking with us! They took full advantage of the day with a choreographed first dance, dress change for the bride and the groom even showed off his juggling skills! Anna & Mina were married off site and came to Kennolyn for the celebration, which included a surprise performance by Irish Dancers the groom had commissioned for his bride!
July saw Michelle & Michael use wine bottles as centerpieces & the bride give a heartfelt thank you speech to her guests. Sarah & Paul toasted their union with a special bottle of champagne & provided an ice cream cart for their guests to enjoy. We closed out July with Megan & Spencer decorating their arch with unique floral arrangements & providing cameras for their guests to take photos for the guestbook!
August began the end of camp season and was the start of our second round of duels. We were back at Stone Creek for Claire & Doug’s wedding weekend. Between campfire s’mores, relaxing at the pool, having the groom’s brother play guitar for the ceremony & dancing the Hora during the reception, this group enjoyed every moment of their weekend! Valerie & Andrew brought glam to their reception with the groom’s sparkly jacket to match the bride’s glittery gown!
Back at the Hacienda, Anna & Sheldon had a steel drummer entertain during cocktail hour & a moving blessing from the elders in their families. Evan & Andrew had the Booth Bus on site for photo booth fun, Kayla & Andrew were married in a church & danced the night away with the Vybe Society & August concluded with Allison & Ryan, who served donuts & left with a sparkler send off!
September began with a double wedding weekend at the Hacienda while family camp was happening at the Village. Saturday’s wedding was Sofia & Jonathan’s big day, with a lawn ceremony & lots of dancing! Sunday saw Elena & Nicolette celebrate with a champagne tower toast & couple portraits with a classic car. September at the Hacienda continued with Amanda & Adam, our only couple to choose the olive trees as their ceremony backdrop. The bride’s mother walked her down the aisle, where she shared a special moment with her grandfather & step-father. Leela & Dean treated their guests to both ice cream & the Booth Bus while Alyson & Ryan brought in fun rentals & a cookie wall.
Back at the Village, Javi & Stephen’s family & friends were ready for a fun weekend the minute check in started and they delivered! Karaoke in the lodge, welcome bags, craft stations & disposable cameras to use throughout the weekend! Emily & Jeff’s guests traveled from all over the world (including England, where the couple is from). Though it rained on their wedding day, the lodge provided the perfect rainy day alternative and they all had a marvelous night dancing to Vibe Society! Celina & Ryan closed September at the Village with a ceremonial “first scoop” from their ice cream dessert!
October kicked off at the Hacienda with Lauren & Scott, who were married on the lawn & served up buntinis for dessert. Trisha & Steven had our biggest wedding of the year, requiring two bars and two buffets to serve their awesome guests. Samantha & Gilbert chose an open seating layout, allowing their guests to sit with whom they wanted. Our final weekend in October at the Hacienda saw another double wedding weekend. First was Ashley & John, who had stunning florals & a singer perform during cocktail hour. Second was Katie & Ben, who chose the redwood grove for their ceremony & were able to join their guests for cocktail hour.
Our first couple at the Village in October was Sammy & Jason. Sammy was a former Kennolyn camper and we celebrated having her back for her big day by displaying photos of her from her camp days! The guests enjoyed card games and sing a longs in the lodge throughout the weekend. Katrina & Andrew rented farm tables for their reception and provided babysitters so guests could enjoy the party! Sarah & Dylan traveled from their home in England for their wedding weekend, bringing guests in from all corners of the globe. Arnetha & Michael made sure there were plenty of activities for everyone, from volleyball/basketball tournaments, to the ropes course and the pool. Our final October weekend at the Village was a vow renewal for Kristina & Rich that truly had something for everyone. A sound bath in the amphitheater, s’mores, massages, yoga, two different bands and a stunning display of candles and wood pieces!
In November we welcomed Sarah & Alex as our final wedding weekend in the Village. This laid back couple provided monogramed cups for guests to use throughout the weekend, the bride and groom joined in an early morning yoga session before the wedding and the night ended with everyone on the dance floor!
We finished up the season at the Hacienda with our final two couples of the season. Samantha & Keith’s guest enjoyed a pre-ceremony drink & popcorn favors. Our final couple, Jennifer & Skye, chose to get ready together at Casa De Caldwell, greet guests as they arrived for the ceremony and had a projected slideshow of their relationship playing through dinner.
2022 was a wonderful wedding season and we want to thank all our incredible couples for choosing Kennolyn to host your special day (or weekend)! We’ve loved having the chance to celebrate with you and wish you nothing but love & happiness!
