2024 Event Season Recap!
And just like that, the 2024 event season has come to a close! We had another incredible season, all thanks to our amazing couples! We had our highest number of former campers coming back to celebrate their big day with us (5!) and now consider their spouses part of our Kennolyn family as well!
Our season kicked off on a rainy day in April at Hilltop Hacienda for Kristina & Stacy. These two were great sports when the rain arrived on their big day, choosing to still hold their ceremony in the Redwood Grove. We set up tables inside our Hacienda which provided a cozy refuge from the rain. Guests still had an incredible time dancing in front of the fireplace!
May at Hilltop welcomed Kimberly & Andrey, who had their beloved dog apart of their ceremony and Casey & Grant (a former Kennolyn camper), who received a custom made aisle runner from the bride’s father and were the first couple to take advantage of our new cocktail options!
Stone Creek Village opened its season with Lauren & Zach’s wedding weekend. The couple provided custom tie-dyed shirts to help pick teams for their planned field games on the morning of the wedding (even the bride got in on the fun!). The couple stunned in their wedding outfits with Zach donning a green suit and Lauren looking radiant in a pink gown!
Memorial Day had us welcoming camp families to Stone Creek for a fun weekend of pool fun, yoga, family trivia night, a movie in Town Square, a focaccia making class with our Executive Chef and a BBQ on the field with incredible food, live music, splash pads and tie-dye. A super fun way for the families to enjoy Kennolyn with their campers!
Stone Creek’s Spring season closed out with Stephanie & Spencer, who went all in for their 3-day weekend. From a scavenger hunt to welcome guests at check in, to movie night in Town Square, a boat regatta at the pool, frisbee golf and a nerf pong tournament, these two kept their guests highly entertained all weekend!
June is the official start of our camp season with Stone Creek closing to events and welcoming kids from all over for Overnight Camp. Hilltop Hacienda’s parking lot gets transformed Monday-Friday for our day camp and sees us holding weddings on the weekends.
Phuong & Joseph begin our Summer season with beautiful florals and multicolored bridesmaid dresses. Phuong was our first of many brides to have a dress change halfway through the reception, easier to dance the night away in!
June also welcomed Hannah & Joseph, who mixed rounds and farms tables for dinner, had custom name tags made for each guest and Hannah & her mom wowed the guests with a choreographed mother/daughter dance! Mackenzie & Ethan closed out June and brought the tears with a touching 1st look with dad and beautiful toasts from family and friends before hitting the dancing floor.
We said hello to July with Katelyn & Daniel, who brought all the vibes for their wedding day. Some of the groom’s family came from his native Italy and all were treated to a champagne fountain, the bride serenading her husband after their choreographed first dance (she was an American Idol finalist) and the couple took photos with a friend’s custom car.
Emily & Mike threw a showstopping wedding to close out July. The bride didn’t overlook a single detail, bringing in stunning rentals (including a 90-foot pink bar just for cocktail hour!), an abundance of color everywhere you looked, mini horses & other animals to keep the kids entertained and an end of the night send off in a red roadster!
Vivian & Carlos opened August at the Hacienda. The bride’s dad served as their officiant and the couple brought back tradition with the money dance, bouquet and garter tosses before partying under the stars with their guests.
With camp season officially over, we opened our Fall season at Stone Creek with Samantha & Max’s August wedding weekend. These two enjoyed the weekend with their favorite people at the pool, playing ping pong and snacking on late night bites in the lodge during their after party.
August at Hilltop started with Kristy & Dylan (another former camper), who offered guests a welcome glass of champagne as they arrived, gave out custom playing cards as favors and hired The Booth Bus to capture some photobooth fun!
Back at Stone Creek, Kaylee & Phil threw a layback wedding weekend built around fun and hanging with their friends and family. Their customized beer pong table doubled as their guest book and provided after-hours fun. Black linens set the perfect mood for the dinner and the couple enjoyed a private meal, just the two of them, before coming to mingle with their guests.
Hilltop hosted Natalie & Tyler’s wedding where the couple brought in color through rentals, had a Pizza My Heart sign on The Booth Bus to represent where they met and had their favorite banana cake for dessert.
August ended and September began at Hilltop with back-to-back weddings over Labor Day Weekend, while Stone Creek hosted family camp run by our Camp’s department. Rachel & Jeff’s Saturday wedding was filled with sunflowers, showstopping couple shots and a sparkler exit, while Emily & Kyle’s Sunday affair had plated dinner service, a vegan cake fashioned to match their wedding invitation and a Texas Two Step led by the bride’s relatives on the dance floor.
Hilltop in September held Kira & Bill’s breathtaking wedding with gorgeous florals, couple photos underneath the redwoods and an end of night getaway in the groom’s dad’s ’55 Jaguar.
Stone Creek welcomed its biggest group of the year for Brooke & Daniel’s wedding weekend. Though our typical 60 people stayed on site, the couple invited another 100 off site guests to enjoy the welcome dinner Friday night (a delicious taco buffet) that included a special piano performance from the bride’s niece and welcomed everyone to celebrate their marriage on Saturday.
Beccah & Bill brought their love of outdoor activities and swimming to Stone Creek, making sure the pool was open for lap swims every morning, hosting yoga in the schoolhouse and taking advantage of a guided hike and our pickleball courts. While up at Hilltop, Megan & Ryan brought the fun with a redwood ceremony, custom stationery & signage made by the bride’s sister in law, a churro cart & props for the dance floor.
Emily & Alex chose September at Hilltop for their big day which saw the ceremony in front of our lawn fountain, 2024’s largest bridal party (19!) and a traditional Spanish Bota bag filled with wine and passed around during the night (the groom was even gifted his very own from his new father-in-law!).
Back at Stone Creek, former camper Casey & David brought a fun group in for a 3-night stay that began with an intimate rehearsal dinner on Caldwell Lodge’s side terrace Thursday night and continued Friday with a guided hike and kickball tournament. The wedding Saturday included a music trio for ceremony/cocktail hour, a choreographed first dance and Marianne’s Sweet Surf Ice Cream for dessert. Casey threw on her reception dress to continue the dance party into the morning hours!
September (and Hilltop’s season) ended with Britt & Andrew. True foodies, this pair chose a plated style meal with a custom Spicy margarita cocktail and It’s It’s for dessert. Adding a personal touch to the day, Britt’s family handled the floral arrangements.
Nicole and Dane closed out Stone Creek’s September with our most laid back wedding weekend of the year. Bride and groom could be found hanging with their two kids or playing pickleball together just hours before they said I do. The bride’s friend did her make up and we provided much of their décor. The most special aspect of their wedding was the live painter they hired, who painted photos of the guests as they mingled during cocktail hour and dinner.
Stone Creek hosted all our October weddings this season, beginning with Angel & Ty, who not only planned a wedding this year, but found out they were expecting! The bride wanted Fall vibes and got them! She added additional lighting (fall leaves and pumpkin string lights), had a meticulous color scheme and added a hot chocolate bar. The most exciting part came during the cake cutting, where the couple held their babies’ gender reveal! An unforgettable moment!
Olivia & Josh knew Stone Creek would be their perfect wedding venue, especially since they met as fellow camp counselors here years ago! Josh’s family flew in from his native England and everyone enjoyed a coffee cart, axe throwing, a guided hike led by the bride and her mom and making friendship bracelets. With several former Kennolyn campers and counselors on site it was a big Kennolyn reunion!
Jess & Adarsh hosted the final wedding of the season and did it in style! Their 3-day weekend included a traditional Indian ceremony Friday morning, beautiful florals arranged by the couple’s close friend, a Western ceremony with traditional Indian attire on Saturday, a dress change (easier to dance in) and multiple rounds of shot gunning Topo Chicos to keep the party going! A perfect ending to our events season!
Thank you to all our amazing couples for choosing Kennolyn to host your special day (or weekend)! We are so grateful to have been a part of these and many more memorable moments.
And a big shout out to all the incredible vendors we worked with this year! You helped us bring these couple’s dreams to life and we’re so thankful for you!
See you in 2025!
